Panasonic provided four large screens with high-resolution LED panels at a pitch of 8 mm to the Tokyo Aquatics Centre, which was newly built for the swimming competitions of the Tokyo 2020 Games. The high contrast displays conform to the International Swimming Federation’s standards of 12 lines of 32 characters. In case of an emergency, it displays the information that corresponds to the announcements made through the broadcasting equipment. Since machines installed in indoor swimming pools must be splash and moisture resistant, the screens comply with the IP65 standard (waterproof and dustproof). Moreover, the equipment has a built-in air conditioning system to control the temperature and humidity inside the screens.
