Panasonic’s total solutions, predominantly in AV equipment, helped guide the Olympic Winter Games Sochi 2014 to success. As a result of the Sochi 2014 Games, Panasonic’s brand recognition increased throughout Russia. Sergey Braitsev of the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee for the Olympic Winter Games looked back on his experience with Panasonic. “The Panasonic brand will continue to be well-known even after the Games,” he said. “And of course, we count on Panasonic to provide even higher-quality solutions, something revolutionary enough to change the social life of our country. I am certain the various solutions Panasonic presented to Sochi 2014 will become necessities in areas outside sports.”
New Solutions for Future Olympic Games
Panasonic became the first company to sign the Official Worldwide Olympic Partner Agreement with the IOC through 2024. Panasonic will continue to support the Olympic Games – Rio 2016, PyeongChang 2018, Tokyo 2020, and through 2024, with our cutting-edge equipment technologies and solutions.
Koji Yamamoto of Panasonic’s AVC Network Company discussed goals for the future. “Going forward, we’d like to go beyond providing new technology and products, to present solutions that resolve future challenges and provide services required by future Olympic Games. What solutions are required by future Olympic Games? Panasonic, a long-time partner and supporter of the Games, should be able to answer this question with a one-stop solution.”
A Panasonic group-wide effort, not just limited to AV equipment, will be able to offer total solutions unachievable at past Olympic Games. This brand new initiative aimed at the next Games is only just beginning.
Panasonic legacy Products support post Sochi 2014 city development
In Sochi, many infrastructure and facilities constructed for Sochi 2014 was left intact to attract international conferences and world-class sports competitions, among other events. The equipment that Panasonic supplied for Sochi 2014, such as the security cameras, the large-screen displays and audio systems installed in the venues, the HD Visual Communication System that connects and allows for virtual conferences between facilities, and the broadcasting equipment at the Media Centre and Broadcast Centre, is certain to play an important role at large events in the future.
