Panasonic supplied a large amount of equipment at the Olympic Games Atlanta 1996, including 1,200 VTRs and 300 video cameras (cameras/camera recorders both for broadcasting). Furthermore Panasonic was awarded for the first time the role of prime contractor for the host broadcaster, providing full assistance from design to operation of the International Broadcast Centre (IBC). Panasonic engineers were on call around the clock to support the production of every thrilling moment of the International Feed.
