                  Design History

Panasonic Design traces its roots back to the 1950s. Our founder made his first visit to the US market and saw that design was the decisive factor in business there, and he realised that "the future was in design". The first time this was done was in 1951. This marked the birth of an in-house design department, which was almost unheard of in Japan at the time.
