The Olympic Games Barcelona 1992 marked the first time Panasonic’s professional broadcast equipment was used by the Host Broadcaster. Panasonic’s digital broadcasting equipment, including roughly 1,200 digital VTRs, 160 video cameras (digital cameras/camera recorders for broadcasting), and 2,000 television monitors, played an active part in the successful broadcast production of the Games.
