In order to put our DEI policy into practice in light of the applicable laws and regulations in their respective countries and regions, each company of the Group will promote specific activities.

About the Panasonic Group

Our reason for existence is “to devote ourselves to the progress and development of society and the well-being of people through our business activities, thereby enhancing the quality of life throughout the world.” As the basic attitude for employees and for advancing our business activities, our management philosophy emphasizes the importance of attaining a sunao (untrapped) mind and implementing participative management based on genuine collective wisdom.

A sunao (untrapped) mind is defined as approaching situations objectively, as they are, without becoming trapped by personal feelings or assumptions. It is about being generous and having an attitude of listening to others. Participative management through collective wisdom is management that gathers the wisdom of every individual, whereby every one of you is a manager, a manager with their own creative ideas.

In an era where the social environment is changing rapidly and values are diversifying, it is becoming more and more important to listen to various opinions and incorporate them into management. Therefore, we define Diversity, Equity & Inclusion as follows:

Diversity:
Embracing and respecting the individuality of each person who accepts challenges, and finding value in individual differences.

Individuality can refer to internal and external aspects such as values, culture, religion, personality, experiences, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, nationality, language, gender, age, disabilities, health, family, socioeconomic status, educational background, work experience, and other factors.

Equity:
Seeking fairness in providing opportunities for every individual who accepts challenges.

We strive to create a workplace where the individuality of each person is taken into account, one that endeavors to provide all individuals with the opportunity to take on challenges by utilizing information, tools and systems, and where everyone is treated fairly.

Inclusion:
The potential for each person who accepts challenges to exercise their characteristics so that the organization can leverage the power of individuality.

We aim to build an inclusive culture where each person who is highly motivated to contribute to the company’s pursuit of its goals can actively participate in management and openly discuss what needs to be said, which will enable the creation of greater value.

Mission, Vision and Action Declaration

For the success of each person who accepts challenges and the success of the organization, we are committed to promoting Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, with the aim of Creating the Best Place to Work where diverse talents work at their best.

The founder Konosuke Matsushita once said, “Every single person has their heaven-sent qualities found in no other, and success in life depends on making the most of our unique qualities.” We will continue to take on the challenge of practicing participative management based on genuine collective wisdom with a sunao (untrapped) mind for the realization of an ideal society and the further improvement of people’s well-being by squarely addressing social issues.
