In Japan 100 years ago, the only way to communicate with families living far away was through post or telegram, meaning we could not get there immediately in case of emergency. On the other hand, communicating through the written word sometimes allows for messages that are more honest and heartfelt than normal conversation, playing an important role for families and friendships. But since the middle of the 20005, Internet and mobile phones have been on the rise and SNS too since 2010. While convenient, it can sometimes be dangerous too. Enjoy the progression of communication tools over 100 years through the eyes of children.

Children experience a wide variety of thoughts and feelings each day through their families and schools. As they grow, some of their opinions may differ from those of their family, and sprouts of resistance may develop. School brings forth feelings of pressure to perform academically and to rise from grade to grade, while facing increased concerns about their relationships with friends. Watch as these video productions reveal the issues that come with each stage of growth, and see how the children face and overcome each new challenge.

The world is full of people, each with his or her own feelings and values, and categorized into races, nationalities, and gender-related differences. It is difficult to comprehend all of them even in one's own country, region, and community. To understand these "differences," children need to take a step outside of their own world. Through their video productions, they seek to find out what the differences are, whether they stem from something like a physical handicap, a culture, or a gender-based minority. And then they strive to learn the true meaning of "diversity."
