[Activity Report] Mitigating the Issue of Menstrual Poverty (Indonesia)

September 1, 2023

The Panasonic Group is engaged in the "LIGHT UP THE FUTURE Project,” which aims to bring light to people in areas without electricity who are trapped in poverty due to the lack of light and power.

In this article, we present a report on when we donated 832 solar lanterns to Flores Island in eastern Indonesia together with Kopernik Japan in 2022. Kopernik Japan has been addressing the issue of menstrual poverty among women in Indonesia, and in this project, they distributed sanitary napkins along with our solar lanterns. The report highlights the changes observed six months after the distribution of the solar lanterns, including the results of monitoring surveys and user interviews.
