FY2024 Panasonic Scholarship Asia Activities Kick Off
Panasonic Scholarship Asia is a scholarship program that supports students studying at local universities and vocational training schools. The scholarship award ceremonies were held in Philippines, Indonesia and Taiwan, marking the start of the program activities in FY2024.
The ceremony was attended by the president as well as Managing Directors of Panasonic group in each country, along with representatives from the scholars’ universities. After the representative of the scholars expressed their determination and aspirations for the future, each scholar who was awarded a scholarship received a certificate.
In FY2024, a total of 116 scholars are expected to be awarded scholarships in nine countries and regions, with award ceremonies to be held in Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, India, and China.

On July 12, an award ceremony was held at Panasonic Manufacturing Philippines Corporation (PMPC), attended by President Higami and other executives, where 17 new scholarship recipients were recognized. While the representative of the scholars express their determination powerfully, President Higami delivered an inspiring message: " Never stop getting better. Continue to work hard and move forward in realizing your dreams. Be resilient and embrace challenges as they come your way.
When you have achieved success, remember your people and those who may need the same assistance you have been blessed with. Live Your Best and contribute to Philippine society and The World Through Industry and World Citizenship."
Despite it being a weekday, many scholarship alumni gathered for the ceremony, highlighting the strong connections among graduates in the Philippines. The alumni shared memories from their time as scholars and their recent experiences, celebrating each other's growth. Additionally, there were opportunities for interaction with the new scholars and the executives, including the president. Listening to their experiences and visions provided significant motivation for the scholarship recipients and inspired hope for the future.
Gathering homecoming ceremony for alumni
On July 29, 21 new scholarship recipients were awarded at Panasonic Manufacturing Indonesia (PMI). The ceremony was filled with excitement, attended by PMI Managing Director Sasage and other local top management. Managing Director Sasage expressed, "Through the Panasonic Scholarship, we sincerely hope to support human resource development, deepen the friendship between Indonesia and Japan, and promote international cooperation. I also expect that all of you who have received this scholarship will greatly contribute to the future of Indonesia." The ceremony was a great opportunity to expand the dreams of the young people who will lead the future.
On August 30th, another award ceremony was held at the Panasonic Taiwan (PTW), where ten new scholarship students were awarded. PTW's President, Mr. Huang Zheng-Cheng, gave a powerful message, "There is no end to learning. I hope that all of you will succeed in your respective fields,"

Additionally, a report session was held where scholarship students shared their internship experiences. Panasonic Taiwan supports a two-month internship program for scholarship students, and this year, five students from the 2023 and 2024 cohorts gained valuable experience. The executives, including president, Mr. Huang Zheng-Cheng, listened to the impressive reports from the interns and expressed their heartfelt hope that the two-month summer internship would greatly benefit the students upon their return to school and in their future careers.
