The trend in the world's interest in tape recorders in 1967 was toward cartridge-type tape recorders and high-quality stereo tape recorders centering on the U.S. market. The company responded to this world trend and developed its first FM/AM radio cassette recorder, model RQ-231, for export.
With the RQ-231 as the starting product in 1967, the company developed the following products. They are the all-transistor type.
Japan's smallest cassette stereo tape deck
Japan's first auto-reverse- type stereo tape deck
A stereo tape recorder with built-in stereo receivers
A furniture-style separate stereo tape recorder
