I think of human beings as rough diamonds. Rough diamonds cast light after being polished, and that light may sparkle in different ways depending on how the diamonds are cut and how they are polished.
Likewise, every person has various excellent qualities that will shine if cultivated or polished. That is why the foundation of training or bringing out the best in people is an awareness of each person's true nature and a consideration of how to employ them so as to make the most of their best qualities.
I believe that, without that awareness you will not be able to bring out the best in your employees, no matter how talented they are.
