About Panasonic SWING
The Asian Tour is an organization that oversees golf tournaments in Asian countries, with the exception of Japan, hosting numerous tournaments focused mainly in Southeast Asia.
Panasonic has supported local tournaments across four countries, including Thailand, India, Indonesia and Malaysia, offering further support through various means such as inviting high-scoring players from each tournament to compete in the Panasonic OPEN in Japan. From 2017, a new circuit was established for this series of tournament based on a point system with the goal of further developing the golf scene in Asia and showcasing the scene on a global stage.
Event Overview
The Panasonic SWING is a race to win the most points over the course of five tournaments that span Thailand, India, Indonesia and Malaysia, culminating in an exciting finale at the Panasonic OPEN Golf Championship in Japan. In order to participate in the point race required for overall victory, participation in at least two of the five tournaments is required, one of which must be the Panasonic OPEN Golf Championship planned for 2020 in Japan. Due to the cancellation of events in Malaysia and Japan, 3rd season of Panasonic SWING had been concluded by three matches in Thailand, India, and Indonesia. The requirement to participate the Panasonic OPEN Golf Championship in Japan had been removed as a special case.
