2019 Thailand OPEN

The third season of Panasonic SWING is underway at last. The first round takes us around five Asian countries, starting with the Thailand OPEN.

After several days of fierce competition, a sudden death playoff was held between John Catlin (USA), Shiv Kapur (India) and Pavit Tangkamolprasert (Thailand), who tied at 11 under par. At the first hole of the playoff, the par-four, 466-yard 18th hole, Kapur and Tangkamolprasert hit rough with their tee shots, while Catlin stayed in the fairway, shooting a stunning birdie and claiming the first victory of the season.

This win saw Catlin rank first in the Panasonic SWING rankings at 1800 points, while Tangkamolprasert and Kapur, the champion of the first Panasonic SWING season, both received 865 points. Tangkamolprasert also won a place in the 2020 Panasonic OPEN tournament in Japan as the top-ranking Thai local.
