Group CAIO Message
Toward AI-Driven Business Transformation
In April 2026, Panasonic Holdings created the position of Group CAIO (Chief AI Officer) to lead the Group-wide acceleration of AI utilization to address customer challenges and improve internal operations, and I was appointed to that role.
In recent years, two major trends have emerged in the AI landscape: the transformation of business processes through generative AI and AI agents, and the rise of Physical AI, where robotics and AI converge. These technologies have the potential not only to transform the way we work and conduct business, but also to drive significant innovation in manufacturing and operational environments.
To respond effectively to these changes, it is essential not only to optimize AI utilization within individual organizations, but also to promote strategic initiatives across the entire Group.
Previously, as CTO of Panasonic Connect Co., Ltd., I was involved in modernizing R&D and promoting technological synergies in our collaboration with Blue Yonder, a company that expands supply chain solution businesses on a global scale, as well as expanding into the SaaS business. I have also accumulated knowledge through practical experience in the highly specialized fields of AI and agile software development.
Building on these experiences, I will lead the formulation of Panasonic Group’s AI strategy, AI technology development, and internal AI implementation across our businesses and operational sites. In addition to driving business transformation through generative AI and AI agents, I will promote challenges in emerging technology domains, including AI and robotics, to further strengthen to expand our hardware, software, and solution businesses.
The Panasonic Group’s strength lies in its diverse business domains and the manufacturing expertise and technologies cultivated within them. The rich assets we have accumulated through manufacturing - including factories, products, equipment, supply chains, and the knowledge and experience embedded in real-world operations - will become an even greater advantage in the era of Physical AI.
Our vision is to connect real-world operational environments with AI and robotics, evolve manufacturing, and deliver new value to society and our customers.
To realize this vision, we will work closely with operating companies and diverse functions across the Group to drive transformation throughout the Panasonic Group.
AI is not a replacement for people. Rather, it is a partner that augments human capabilities and unlocks new possibilities. By fostering an environment where people and AI grow together, we will achieve sustainable growth and strengthen our competitiveness.
