Drawing on the know-how gained from the development of storage batteries such as dry-cell and car batteries as well as solar power generation systems, Panasonic is developing charging facilities compatible to both electric vehicles (EVs) that run on 100% electricity and plug-in hybrids (PHEV) that run on a combination of batteries as well as a gasoline engine. Charging stations are now widely available in private areas such as homes and offices as well as in public areas such as lodging and commercial facilities.
