Panasonic Gobel Indonesia Drives Eco Relay Mission at Walk for Autism Event and Independence Day 2025

Jakarta, August 2025 – Amid global environmental challenges, Panasonic Gobel Indonesia demonstrates its commitment through tangible actions that combine social responsibility and environmental care. In August 2025, the company successfully organized two major initiatives: the offline Walk for Autism event at Plaza Senayan on August 10, and the celebration of Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day at Panasonic Gobel Indonesia headquarters, Jakarta, on August 17. These activities not only raised awareness about autism and fostered national pride but also encouraged participants and employees to take concrete steps to protect the environment through plogging—walking while collecting waste—aligned with Panasonic’s global Eco Relay mission.

On these occasions, Masayuki Sasage, President Director of Panasonic Gobel Indonesia, stated, “Through this initiative, we aim to show that caring for the environment can start with simple actions, such as picking up waste while walking. Panasonic Gobel Indonesia is committed to inspiring the community to protect our planet together while making a tangible contribution to Climate Action.

To ensure responsible waste processing, Panasonic partnered with Rekosistem, a waste management and circular economy company, to handle all collected waste and recycle it into raw materials for industry. Through the Spogomi activity—combining sports and trash collection—hundreds of participants joined in sorting and creatively processing waste, raising awareness of proper waste handling while supporting the circular economy and reducing carbon emissions.

Tangible Impact of Small Actions

Within just one week, participants and employees collected over 57 kg of recyclable waste, equivalent to 570 one-liter plastic bottles prevented from polluting the environment. The activities also featured eco-friendly competitions that motivated participants to contribute actively.

Building a Better Future

With 7.8 million tons of plastic waste generated annually in Indonesia (Plastic Bank Indonesia data), the collaboration between Panasonic and Rekosistem plays a crucial role. These initiatives are not only about collecting waste but also about fostering collective awareness that even small actions can make a significant difference, including in reducing carbon emissions.

Aligned with the global vision “Live Your Best” Panasonic Gobel Indonesia remains committed to delivering environmentally friendly innovations, supporting social inclusion, and preserving the planet to remain a sustainable home for future generations.
