Panasonic China Employees Engage in Environmental Activities During June Environment Month
In June, to celebrate Environment Month, Panasonic employees across China came together to participate in a variety of environmental initiatives. Through activities such as beach clean-ups and Green Factory tours, employees contributed to protecting local ecosystems and promoting a sustainable future in their communities.
PIDQD Hosts Beach Clean-Up Event
On June 28, Panasonic Devices Qingdao Co., Ltd. (PIDQD) organized an environmental event titled “Beach Clean Low-Carbon Walking – Building a Beautiful China” at Shizhuadun, Huangdao District, Qingdao. A total of 81 employees and their family members participated.
The event began with a greeting from General Manager Liu, after which participants were divided into four teams for a 5 km walk. Along the route, checkpoints featured eco-games such as team photo challenges and environmental slogan quizzes, allowing participants to enjoyably enhance their environmental awareness.
On the way back, all participants took part in a beach clean-up, collecting plastic bottles, shopping bags, cigarette butts, and other litter. Children accompanying the event learned about the importance of environmental protection, fostering awareness of marine conservation through hands-on experience.
PIDTJ Conducts Month-Long Environmental Activities
In alignment with Environment Month, Panasonic Devices Tianjin Co., Ltd. (PIDTJ) carried out a month-long series of environmental initiatives from June 5 to 30, aimed at enhancing employees’ environmental awareness.
The activities were structured around three main programs:
- Green Commuting Challenge – Encouraging walking, cycling, and use of public transportation
- Eco Quiz – Daily environmental knowledge learning via a dedicated app
- Eco Exploration Mission – Promoting low-carbon lifestyles and encouraging employees to incorporate eco-conscious habits into daily life and work
A points system was implemented, allowing participants to earn points for each activity and redeem them for incentives. The top 20 employees were recognized in four award levels.
Statistics show that 80 employees, representing 10% of the workforce, participated in the initiatives, earning a total of 10,501.67 carbon points. These activities successfully raised environmental awareness and helped embed low-carbon principles into daily operations and lifestyles.
PAPRCHZ Hosts Green Factory Tour and Hands-On Workshop
On June 7, Panasonic AP Rice Cooker Hangzhou Co., Ltd. (PAPRCHZ) organized an environmental education event under the theme “Exploring the Green Factory – Building the Future with Nature”. Employees and their children participated in a factory tour and hands-on workshops to learn about sustainable manufacturing and environmental protection.
Labor Union Chairman Chen Zaimin welcomed participating families and introduced the production process and technology behind the company’s flagship product, the “Han Guang Guang Ultra” rice cooker. Children then experienced assembling the rice cooker under the guidance of instructor Gao Qing, gaining firsthand insight into Panasonic’s commitment to quality.
In the subsequent miniature landscape workshop, parents and children collaboratively created forest-themed art projects. This creative session not only cultivated children’s environmental awareness but also reflected Panasonic’s commitment to sustainable development and corporate social responsibility.
