What is AkeruE?

A museum where Eureka takes shape.

AkeruE is a place dedicated to foster children’s creative learning experiences
through seeing, making, and communicating.

Eureka brings new discoveries.
Eureka creates new things.
Eureka gives a sense of wonder.
Eureka brings help to others.

AkeruE is a museum where Eureka takes shape.

Experience the fun of creating things by combining them together, building them up, rearranging, and viewing your work of art.

“Eureka” is the word!
If you come up with a great idea, share it with those around you.

Eureka shows us the path to tomorrow.
Let’s open the doors to the future.

A Creative Museum

AkeruE provides children with hands-on learning experiences, and creating works and solutions as a space to develop children’s intellectual curiosity and their inspiration (Eureka in Greek).

The exhibited works combine elements of a science museum where to grow people’s intelligence and elements of an art museum where to cultivate people’s sensitivity.
By creating spaces and offering workshops that help children participate in projects where they create works and come up with solutions, AkeruE will provide them with opportunities for giving shape to their ideas.

Furthermore, AkeruE will explore ways to collaborate with diverse stakeholders including young people, educators, and local activists, aiming to develop opportunities and communities for all human resources and generations, including children, to learn together and create the future.

At AkeruE, Panasonic will offer opportunities for children to come up with new inspiration based on their curiosity and inquisitive minds.

Relationship with school education

AkeruE is a place to try out exploratory learning based on the themes of the SDGs and STEAM education. Visitors can experience the cycle of inspiration, creation, learning, sharing, and reviewing, to build the qualities and abilities* needed in the coming age that are also key points in Japan’s new National Curriculum Standards.

*Qualities and abilities based on the three core areas of (1) knowledge and skills, (2) the ability to think, judge, and express oneself, and (3) one’s character and attitude toward learning.

RiSuPia: A hands-on museum to experience the fascinating world of science and mathematics

Panasonic Center Tokyo ran RiSuPia from 2006 to 2020 as an interactive museum to experience the joy of science and mathematics. AkeruE carries on the concepts of RiSuPia where over 4.6 million people have enjoyed its exhibits over these 14 years.
