1. Providing value through business activities

Utilizing our technologies and knowledge, we will provide innovative products, services and solutions that will contribute to the sustainability of people’s lives, society and the global environment.

Contributions to people’s lives

With an eye on what the world will look like 100 years from now, based on the lifestyles of each and every resident, Panasonic will collaborate with partner companies and local governments to bring about a better lifestyle that is eco-friendly and smart.

Panasonic addresses various social issues such as aging population and low birthrate by providing carefully-selected features such as simple operations and easy-to-understand displays.

Panasonic has developed Japan's first IDA (International Dark Sky Association) certified light pollution prevention LED security lights and street lights. Example of installation in Bisei Town, Ibara City, Okayama Prefecture in order to "protect the starry sky“.

By zoning the environment in terms of Air, Light, and Sound, Panasonic provides comfortable space solutions such as Focus Zone, Natural Zone, and Relax Zone, which employees can choose according to their operations and preference.

Panasonic offers a variety of solutions that support safe and secure living and are effective for disaster prevention and disaster mitigation.

Contributions to customers and society

Support safe and secure driving by providing easy to understand information to users through highly-developed sensing and image recognition technologies, as well as collaboration with network infrastructure.

Panasonic visualizes customers' problems in "Gemba" with its advanced technology and edge devices to solve them through co-creation activities with its customers and partners.

Initiatives for the realization of a hydrogen society, such as "HARUMI FLAG," which is a project to supply hydrogen to city blocks via a pipeline.

Panasonic has developed a new photovoltaic cell technology that achieved the world's highest energy conversion efficiency of 17.9% through ink-jet large-scale coating.

High heat insulation performance is achieved with a total thickness of approximately 6 mm. The thin, clean, and energy-saving glass supports environmentally friendly living.

By reusing used freezing/refrigerating showcases, waste can be reduced and stores can be remodeled with a limited investment budget. Panasonic supports the entire lifecycle of a store by focusing on the "value of cooling".

2. Responsible business conduct

We will fulfill our corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the process of creating value and supporting business activities.

As a responsibility of a manufacturer that uses large amounts of resources, Panasonic promotes initiatives to reduce resources used, recycle products, and increase the use of recycled resources, aiming to contribute to the sustainable use of resources.

Achieved "Zero-CO2 factory" in four business sites and six plants on a global basis. The non-manufacturing business site Panasonic Center Tokyo (showroom) has also achieved it.

An initiative to solve problems that cannot be solved by a single company by sharing knowledge and know-how via the collaboration of 16 companies.

Panasonic business partners around the world apply ideas that can create added value via "CO2 reduction", "minimization of resources used", "utilization of recycled resources", etc. and excellent initiatives are awarded.

Examples of global measures against counterfeit goods that lead to quality concerns (accidents and injuries) and economic loss (reduced tax revenue and reduced incentives for companies to develop new products)

3. Social contributions by the company and employees

We will provide a social impact through corporate citizenship activities toward the realization of an “inclusive society” where everyone can live an active life.

Panasonic contributes to the creation of a sustainable society where each individual can be independent by providing its products for free and sharing management know-how with organizations working to solve social issues with the aim to solve poverty issues and increase educational opportunities in emerging/developing countries.

Panasonic provides sustainably produced seafood in its corporate cafeteria to protect marine resources that are in danger of depletion due to population growth and overfishing. This activity provides employees with opportunities to think about social issues and widens the circle of changing consumer behavior.

Panasonic assists the strengthening of the foundation base of NPOs and NGOs working on the elimination of poverty" in order to help them carry out sustainable and growing activities for making social changes."

Panasonic has implemented a global education support program that aims to stimulate children's creativity, build communication skills, and encourage teamwork through video production at the primary and secondary school levels.
