Giving the guests who love the Jungle Cruise renewed enjoyment

Jungle Cruise is an attraction that has been popular with our Guests for the past 31 years since its opening. With humorous dialog from the skipper, a production replicating jungles from around the world, and life-like animals, this attraction is enjoyed by all kinds of Guests and remains popular to this day. Even with the renovations, this is the one thing that should remain unchanged. Our mission was to make Guests realize after the improvement “Oh, this is new” while keeping what they expect to be the same.

The main theme of the current Jungle Cruise is that Guests will always find new surprises and discoveries each time they visit. We integrated the production with lighting in order to offer different ways to enjoy the ride in daytime and nighttime. The one thing we were most careful about with the lighting production is that the Guests don’t sense the use of the latest technology.

While state-of-the-art technology is used from the jungle and inside the temple to the waiting area, we made this inconspicuous, so I believe that it will bring a new sense of excitement to our Guests.

There are lots of spots in the night cruise that are different from the daytime cruise, therefore we invite you to also enjoy the night cruise.

Unique, one-of-a-kind light by Panasonic technology

Jungle Cruise is an adventure attraction set in the mid-20th century. This historical setting cannot be changed for any reason. So during the renovation, the production team asked us to recreate the lighting as if it was that era, using LED lights. Our mission was to create a lamp which flickers like candlelight being blown by the wind, adding fascination to the Jungle Cruise.

However, changing modern LED lights to look like “old-fashion lamps” was unexpectedly difficult. Of course, existing LED lights don't have the same glow, so we had to adjust the color temperature and illuminance over and over, until we developed an original lighting that matches the Jungle Cruise era.I remember feeling relieved when the finished lights were finally placed inside the Jungle Cruise, after meticulously creating each one.

Since we were chosen for our secure designs and eco-friendly lighting, unique to Panasonic, from now on, we will maintain the good parts while improving one step further, just as they've done in Jungle Cruise, and continue to support Tokyo Disneyland_® through our technology.
